The Calla and the globe mouth-blown glass sculptures light up the garden. Stores energy from the sun during the day – and adds accents of romantic light by night.

It has modern solar- and LED-technology, with an automatic sensor-controlled activation switch. Even during cloudy day, the 6 x 6cm solar module soaks up enough energy to light up the beautiful sculptures. Approximate 10 hours of sunlight is sufficient to fully charge the NiCd-battery for 6-8 hours of light. A sensor automatically activates the lights when it becomes dark.

Designer screen printed solar cells are possible now with the new technique developed by researches at Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE.

Instead of mounting the solar module on the roof, it could be integrated in the glass façade of a building. It is possible to produce it in desired colours, print images or text on the module.

These design options open up an entirely new range of possible applications. It can be used as shade, window or even as company’s logo while generating electricity.

The key component of the new module is an organic dye which in combination with nanoparticles converts sunlight into electricity.

I play no golf yet I want this solar powered roof top kit which can be fitted on a golf cart. This could be a mini-use car for me. If I just want to drive around the neighbourhood, pick up the kids or drop them off for their extra-curricular lessons, I would use such a car. Cruise Car Inc. of Florida, USA is making Sunray solar roofkit which is an easy-to-install retrofit that allows most popular golf cart models to go solar. sm_model2028-sx2_red.gifThese solar panels can generate upto 180 watts, 60. As long as the vehicle is in the sun, the battery is constantly recharging itself through the solar panel. Converting a cart with a solar top will benefit the end user by increasing the distance the cart can go on a single charge by 30%.

From the same company this one is Kudo series 14-seater vehicle which is available in solar-power mode. Cost of such vehicle is still a prohibiting factor (for me but normal for golf cart buyer) but I welcome the technology.

One is going to get goosebumps if one see things materialized which one had talked so passionately about.

Parans, still seems like impossible but is what I dreamt of.

Four months ago we were moving to a place where electricity charges are steep. So we were thinking of alternative methods. One day I told my husband why can’t we store sun’s light, why can’t we store winter’s cold. The look on his face told me to stop farrying around my futuristic fairy tales.

I started to look for a solar air condition on the net and I stumbled upon parans lighting site. I was so tempted I even wanted to make dealership enquiries.

Parans lighting system can’t store light though. This lighting uses sunlight , optical fibres and prisms. This technology is developed in Sweden by engineers at the Chalmers University in Gothenburg.

And when natural cold can be stored too so that I get my natural air condition. Say what I am crazy. No, those days are not too far!
