It was in the later part of the 19th century when residential complexes in Kerela had flat terrace roofs , rather than gabled roofs , which automatically reduced the use of wood within the interiors as well.
Nowadays these traditional architectural methods can be seen more at resorts and hotels , and a few residential complexes .
