Most prominent feature in Kerala’s architecture is its gabled roofs and all wood constructions.

The skillful choice of timber, accurate joinery, artful assembly and delicate carving of wood work for columns, walls and roofs frames are the unique characteristics of traditional Kerala architecture.

The gorgeous wooden staircase which has decorated pages of practically all the interiors magazines in India!

this is a very nice house. its landscape is giving an elegance look for this calssic house.

really it is a master piece of the designer.

  4. It was in the later part of the 19th century when residential complexes in Kerela had flat terrace roofs , rather than gabled roofs , which automatically reduced the use of wood within the interiors as well.

Nowadays these traditional architectural methods can be seen more at resorts and hotels , and a few residential complexes .
