360 degrees

In this architectural and interior splendour nothing comes between you and nature! No architectural barricades, no colours to dazzle you and no space filling interior accessories.

Fearon Hay Architects is a New Zealand based firm.

For their stark modern aesthetics, I want to dub them as ‘Maharajas’ of modern minimal architecture!

Every corner of these houses is linked to its landscape. Large living areas, internal courtyards, endless verandahs, open plan bathroom, extensive decks and patio spaces, natural grey plaster walls and merging of indoor and outdoor living spaces with slide away systems to open the house to the opulence of views and abundant light make these spaces simple, magnificent and dreamy!

Exteriors - designs, designer façade, shatto recreation center, steven ehrlich architects, architecture

Architects: Steven Ehrlich Architects + in collaboration with artist Ed Moses

Mix some cross stitch, some ikat, some ancient calligraphy and Aztec architecture on a wall and you have this stunning artwork façade!

This unusual crafted exterior look belongs to Shatto Recreation Center designed by Steven Ehrlich Architects in collaboration with artist Ed Moses.

Shatto Center’s architecture in itself is interesting enough but what holds my interest more is its designer façade!

Center’s north and south elevations are animated with abstract patterns of split-faced, sandstone coloured red bricks and glazed black concrete blocks.

this Earth Day … bamboo architecture

Kisama heritage village, Nagaland, India

Via: NMBA

I have been to NMBA’s gallery again and again and have downloaded few bamboo structures, pre-fabs etc. I just needed an excuse to showcase these images!

And I am particularly enamoured with this bamboo structure!

cool pink

Designer: Michael Morten Neumayr

The perfect, freshest, classiest pink interiors I have ever seen and fallen in love with!

I had almost concluded that even the right pink does not look good on walls or in interiors! These interiors by Nuemayr have changed my conclusions!

Cool Pink is design of a hallway.

At the base of this invitingly fresh hallway is a lush lighting concept. A soffit runs along the hallway to cast magenta coloured lights on adjacent walls. The floating sideboard is crafted out of Palisander wood and illuminated glass seems to hover in front of wall. This effect is enhanced by a spray of scarlet light projected from its backside onto the wall.  Access to the dressing room is through glass door illuminated in a soft tone of cool blue. The light channels alongside the hallway project a streak of white light against the ceiling, resulting in the illusion of added height.
