nano sun – tiniest art

nanosun.gif

This is one of the tiniest pieces of art ever made – an image of the sun made from 20,000 microscopic particles of gold.

The recreation of Robert Fludd’s 17th century drawing of the Sun – the alchemists’ symbol for gold – is shown being created by precisely placing 20,000 gold particles, each about 60 nanometers in diameter, etched on a silicon chip “wafer”.(60 nanometers is 60 billionths of a meter; a human hair is about 80,000 nanometers wide.)

This is not only a piece of art but it is also micro-engineering. It is nanotechnology racing ahead. This creation means 2 things:-1st this is a new nano “printing” technique and 2nd the scientists believe this will lead to breakthroughs in ultra-miniature; ultra-tiny chips, lenses, and biosensors.

IBM researchers in collaboration with scientists from the ETH Zurich have achieved this breakthrough.

The achievement, published in the September issue of the journal Nature Nanotechnology, offers a promising and powerful new tool for use in a wide range of fields and industries such as biomedicine, electronics and IT .

simplest mor

Simplest peacock-mor (in Hindi mor means peacock)

mofallpdrawing.gif

It is a remote part of India, a small village where this little girl lives. She wakes up early and helps her mother in daily chores. By the time she reaches school she is physically tired quite a bit. But her eyes always glisten as she wants to explore every little-big thing on this earth and beyond.

Teacher’s pet she is invited to take over the class for a while. Her heart never refusing to stop jumping yet with outward calm she draws this mor (peacock), thinks teacher is going to give her very good today. She slowly begins to tell a story…

There was a kingdom with a huge garden. A pretty rajkumari (princess) lived there with her mor (peacock) friends.  She was very good in studies and wanted to conquer the world with her knowledge. She wanted  to study more and more and more than her parents or people of her side of the world would like to allow………

designflute thinks this drawing is mother of all peacock drawings.

                                                                All knowing! ?

Statements on life, today, tomorrow and yesterday :that’s what I think of this artist-photographer’s work from Saudi Arabia– Manal Al-Dowayan.

(I like her work so much that I think I would do one more post on her.)

the garden of my childhood

kindergarte.gif

The numerous nuances of pink distinguish this garden from any other.

The apple tree, roses, petunias fragrant peas, pink and grey colors fight for space and crave to be picked up.

The theme is ‘The garden of my childhood ‘and Russian landscape designer Sergey Malyuchenko portrays it so beautifully.

Garden in the childhood is bright and as man grows old his garden loses colors.

Behind the fresh pink’s soft cries of pick me up there is a hidden meaning of grey as neglected garden but pink is the transitional colors on the way to renovation.
