The Unstill Life

Art touching environmental boundaries?

Or drawing attention to ecological processes?

It is a world’s first underwater sculpture park, created by Jason de Caires Taylor.

This sculpture park is located on the beautiful island of Grenada in the Caribbean.

Here, sculptures become artificial reefs which attract marine life as well as human visitors. The sculptures are sited in clear shallow waters to afford easy access.

It is unique, a kaleidoscope of art interacting with environment and vice-versa, shifting of sands every moment and the viewing undercurrents tell me

it is certainly out of this world!

In artist’s views it is hope and recovery and underlines our need to understand and protect the natural world.

Need I say these creations are simply beautiful!

The Sweden based artist Karin Eriksson mainly works with porcelain, stoneware and terracotta earthenware.

These two signe coffee beaker and one horned cup are great fun.

Karin also has a blog called karin’s style blog. Some everyday by the roadside photos from her blog are great.

This ‘wild strawberries’ is one of them.

After a 3-day harrowing monsoon metro-city malady I want to indulge myself today.

I really like white interiors though I am Indian. Here are some great white and+ modern minimalist interiors with a deft touch of flora and green.

Its only 2-3 days that I have come to know about work of artist Hiromi Sato. I go back again and again and again to her site white-eggs and every time I come back satisfied but craving for more.

I am posting design ideas in a series called MY NOOK for a corner, for each and every nook of my house and your house.

I have already done one, this is next.

This is ‘urban bear’ inkjet print by architect and artist Marjetica Potrc, I just can’t seem to erase from my mind for even a minute.

Architects: @ The Centre for Vernacular Architecture

My husband dreams of a mud and brick geometrical home in a far-away village by the pond. I think I am in his dreamland.

These brick , mud, random rubble and laterite stone oppulant spaces are created by The Centre for Vernacular Architecture. The centre is a non-profit organisation and a co-operative of building crafts persons.

The centre creates spaces that are cost effective, ecologically sensible and culturally relevant.

Go on to amazing journey of each space which offers surprises like water-body co-existence, wall mural, spaces created in brick walls for light, blue oxide bathroom, water tap and attangudi cement tiles.
